Ethiopian Food
Posted in Family on 04/01/2009 05:15 pm by CaceyLast Saturday Aaron and I attended an adoption parenting class that is required by our agency. Although it was a bit of a drive (hour and half to Lodi, CA) it was well worth it! Not so much because of the content of the class (it was on adopting an older child) but for the opportunity to connect with other adoptive parents who understand adoption "lingo." There were about 6 other couples there, one of which lives in Loomis (20 minutes from us) and is also adopting from Ethiopia!
Afterward we took full advantage of already having babysitting and stopped for dinner at an Ethiopian restaurant in Sacramento called Queen Sheba (You can check it out at http://www.queenshebas.com/). It was a very fun and yummy way to connect with our daughters culture.
They served the food family style on a large platter. Here you see Awazie Beef Tibbs, Chicken Tibbs, Kik Wot, Gomen and Salad…
You use Enjera (a thin pancake like sourdough bread) to dip and scoop up the food…
