“Say hay boke-mahn he pah du say oh”…

…which in Korean means "Please receive many New Year's blessings"

This past Sunday we had the opportunity to gather together with other Korean-American families and celebrate the Korean New Year or Lunar New Year (for more info. check out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_New_Year).

We dressed Spencer up in his Hanbok and learned how to perform a traditional bowing ceremony. Children bow respectfully to their elders and then receive a gift (an envelope with $1 in it).

We then enjoyed a potluck with lots of Bulgogi (beef bbq), rice and Kimchee (pickled cabbage).

Dossier

We completed our dossier (A stack of paperwork required by the Ethiopian government)!! I FedExed it out on Friday and it arrived at our agency on Tuesday. It took several months of gathering and filling out paperwork to complete so it feels very good to finally have it done. Now the real wait begins – sometime in the next 3-9months we will be assigned our baby girl!

Playing in the Snow with Dad

Some real snow is finally here, so Spencer and Dad head out to play. After this, we rode a sled down the hill, too.

Fun at the Outlet Stores

Spencer drives the choo-choo at the Petaluma outlet store. He sorta likes it.

Next up, he rides a choo-choo that looks suspiciously like a helicopter.

He finishes up the Petaluma outlet store experience on the fire engine.
